Perception

How do we "see" the world? Our eyes have a very specific range in which they are effective. Our noses are pretty pathetic. Touch is imprecise. Hearing is bizarre! Detecting the vibrations of varying densities of air pressure and interpreting it as sound? Weird. Taste keeps us from getting poisoned, but is of limited value when we are trying to understand supernovae. 

How do we know that we are sensing reality at all? There is so much that happens around us that doesn't fall within the range of our senses. What we know as reality is just a sliver...
